I highly recommend this movie. It is set in either a very small Scottish village (which appeals to the Scots in me) or in Ireland (from which my maiden name descends). I just finished watching this movie with my kids. One of my favorite parts is when a young boy in the film is interacting with the new minister in town, and is asking him some questions about who he, the minister, works for. The boy is wondering who the minister works for and if he gets paid much. The minister repsonds with, “I haven’t met him in person, and my pay is relatively low (or something like that).” To which the boy responds, “I don’t think I could ever work for someone who I can’t see and from whom I don’t get paid much.” Gosh, it just makes me laugh. There is something about the music at the end of the movie that touches my heart and makes me cry; maybe it’s the story, family history, something, I’m not sure what, but I really enjoy this movie.
>Waking Ned Devine is one of my favorite films. I remember the scene of which you speak. Another funny movie of that genre is “Saving Grace”.
